About Us

What is Inland Outdoors?
Inland Outdoors was created by Brynn Radke, a Whitworth University student who wanted to form a comprehensive site full of all the things outdoors in the Spokane region. Coming from the west side of the state, Brynn had really only heard poor things about Spokane. When she moved to the area, all she found was a great sense of community that her hometown lacked, and a vast world of outdoor activities. The Inland Northwest is home to a wide range of outdoor experiences, whatever you are into or whatever you may want to try, you can find it in the Inland Northwest.
Brynn frequently used sites like AllTrails, where she could review and research hikes in the area that she wanted to visit or learn about. However, she was also interested in things like kayaking, skiing, and biking. Brynn thought that creating a site that encompasses all of these things (and more), and would allow for user reviews and contributions, would be a great way for outdoor lovers who are visiting or new to the area to find and participate in all of the things that they love.
The goal of Inland Outdoors is to be a community, rather than just a site with links to things to do. Wondering what people thought about skiing at a certain spot during COVID? Read their reviews on the site. The goal is to be able to complete one activity, leave a review, and then find your next activity with one or two clicks. Instead of going from one site to another, or leaving a page to visit a review site, we are hoping to take the complications
We are constantly exploring, learning, researching, and enjoying all things Spokane. As we learn and grow, the site will also learn and grow. Our hope is that the community will grow with us and be able to contribute to the site as much as we do. A newsletter subscription, an Instagram follow, or a Facebook like will also allow us to grow our community base and expand our communications with one another.
Overall, we love Spokane and we want everyone else to love it too!
