Pavilion Light Show:
Originally built for Expo in 1974, the Pavilion has reigned as a central gathering place for Spokane. Anyone who was in town in 2019 witnessed the Pavilion undergo major renovations. The pavilion now features event and concert space as well as a skywalk. The skywalk is great for views of the city.

Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night, the pavilion features a light show that begins at sunset and runs until 10pm. This light show is year-round, and features a variation of color, brightness, and patterns. Bring a blanket and lay out in the grass under this mesmerizing display!

Spokane Hoopfest:
Spokane Hoopfest is the largest 3 on 3 basketball tournament in the world. The event averages over 6000 teams, 3000 volunteers, 225,000 spectators and 450 courts. The courts span out all over downtown Spokane and draw visitors from around the world. Spokane Hoopfest is for all ages and abilities! There are several divisions that you can participate in, including several groups in the elite, high school, and standard divisions.
Hoopfest takes pride in the community and the value of Spokane. They believe that sports can connect neighborhoods and promote thriving communities. Money earned from the event is reinvested into the community.
Experience more of what the Spokane community has to offer in one of the greatest outdoor events of the year!
Hoopfest 2021 will be held June 26-27 and registration opens March 2021.
Pig Out in the Park:
While not the most active event, Pig Out in the Park will still get you out of the house and allow you to enjoy tasty treats in beautiful Riverfront Park. Pig Out in the Park is a SIX DAY food and music festival, and it’s free! Local restaurants will bring out their food trucks, fair food is available the whole week, anything you’ve been dying to try, this is a great opportunity to do so! Get a nice walk in and stuff your face at Pig Out in the Park!
Next year’s event will take place September 1-6.
Bloomsday 12K:
Also known as the Lilac Bloomsday Run, this 12k (7.46 miles) takes place every year in Spokane, Washington. This run is generally held the first Sunday of May and has taken place every year since 1977. The race starts in downtown Spokane and heads towards the far west side of town. The course then takes you up “Doomsday Hill” and then back towards downtown past the courthouse. Everyone who completes the race gets a Bloomsday T-Shirt
